A traditional tavern in Aranjuez
El Nuevo Jerez has been a café, bar and dining room on Calle San Antonio since 1974. Here breakfast stretches into lunch, sobremesa keeps going, and dinner only starts when the sun drops over the Tajo.
Tapas the old way — ensaladilla, croquetas, torrezno, sweetbreads — alongside griddled meats and fish, sandwiches, and a wine list that runs the peninsula, from Jerez to Bierzo, Ribera del Duero to Rías Baixas. Tuesday to Thursday, set lunch menu.
You come here to stay a while. Cool wine, toasted bread, and time on your hands.

The house cellar
A selection that begins in Jerez and travels the peninsula — fortified wines by the glass and bottles from across Spain. Ask the service for recommendations.
